BMW 335D Diesel Engine

BMW 335D Sedan

The Ultimate Driving Machine will now be available with a 3.0 liter diesel engine that is forced fed by twin turbochargers. The engine is good for 265bhp and a whopping 425lb-ft of torque. The 335d is good for 0-60 in a blistering 6.0 seconds flat. This performance comes with the efficiency that is usually reserved for naturally aspirated 4 cylinders. BMW has said that these engines can achieve a solid 36 mpg on the freeway.

The 335d is place right in the middle of the 328i and the 335i. The "i" designation indicates a petrol fuel injected engine. The 335d's performance is also right in the middle of the two with a base starting price of $45,275. The 335d can be optioned with the all of the similar options that you can find on a 328i or 335i.

The 335d produces the torque from the about 1500 RPM all the way to the red line. Even though the engine produces 265bhp, the torque is what really makes the 335d so fun to drive. At the current moment, the 335d is only available with a automatic transmission. The 335d is currently available from your BMW dealer.
