Mazda’s big news about a new family arrival in 2011 is of direct-injection gasoline and diesel engine. Current engines will be replaced by the Sky engines with significant changes to vehicle platforms which will be more powerful and fuel-efficient at lower displacements. The debut of the first Sky gasoline engine is expected by 2011 in the United States. In the subsequent year 2012, a direct-injection Sky diesel is to appear.
All the Mazda’s upcoming models of 2014 or 2015 are released with powertrains but not sure which ones are with Sky powertrains.

Five door hatchback - Mazda2: The debut of the smallest vehicle in the company's lineup happened successfully this summer. The small 2011 five-door hatchback, four-cylinder engine that produces about 100 hp is powered by a 1.5-liter capacity and gets more than 30 mpg on the highway and about 28 mpg in city driving.

Highest volume - Mazda3: Mazda's highest-volume model is scheduled for a freshening in 2013, after a redesign for the 2010 model year. This highest-volume vehicle will get a Sky direct-injection engine, but the timing may not be much clear.

Mazda’s rotary engine - RX-8: Mazda may kill RX-8 as rotary-engine sports car has been rumbling for months. While there are no changes planned for the 2011 RX-8, but till the successor is ready for production, updates are in the progress for a 2012 model to bridge the gap.
Due to the problems in developing a new 1.6 liter rotary engine 16X, Mazda's next-generation RX-8 is at least one model year behind. The 16X, Mazda's first rotary is not hitting emission reduction targets. Mazda’s priority shifted to diesel engines and Sky range due to global financial crisis, needed to meet more stringent fuel economy requirements. So customers cannot expect a redesigned RX-8 at least until the 2014 model year.

Minivan - Mazda5: Mazda's Nagare design language, the redesigned 2012 small minivan goes on sale. Updated interior and a more fuel-efficient engine are the highlighted features of new Mazda5.

Camry - Mazda6: mid-sized Camry-fighter got new headlights for the 2011 model year. The, 17-inch alloy wheels, glorious seat materials, interior trim and other additional technologies. Redesigning with at least one of the new sky engines is scheduled for the 2013 model year.

Roadster - MX-5: 2012 is waiting for the radiant roadster model year but doubtful that it may not get sky gasoline engine until later. There are some rumors regarding the redesigning of this model.

Mazda’s crossovers

iTouring - CX7: iTouring, the mid-sized crossover will be offered with trim level for the 2011 model year. Gasoline or diesel Sky engine is expected for the CX7 when it is redesigned for the 2013 model year.
